1st & 2nd-Year Arabic
The SLI Arabic program is being offered in an in-person format. Depending on demand, some sections may be offered in an online, synchronous format. Applicants will be asked to indicate the format that they are seeking on their SLI application form.
Arabic at the beginning and intermediate levels taught at the SLI provides the equivalent of one academic year's worth of study
Arabic classes will meet Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 2:50 pm ET for 5 academic hours per day with a break for lunch. In addition to intensive language classes, students also attend Arabic films, lectures on politics and culture, and activities featuring the cultures of the Arabic-speaking world on topics such as art, music, movement, and cuisine. Students will learn Modern Standard Arabic and a dialect of their choice (Levantine or Egyptian).
